TOP GEAR JEREMY CLARKSON AUCTIONS FOR CHIPPY LIDO

Jeremy Clarkson took a break from high performance cars on Friday night, when he changed gear to take on the auctioneer role in the Chippy Lido Auction of Promises.

In the words of Chippy Lido Fundraiser Ken Norman, "Our Auction of Promises on Friday evening was another tremendous success for us.

"Jeremy Clarkson did a brilliant job at extracting every last penny possible from a packed Town Hall. The lots raised £14,155 and with ticket and raffle sales we expect the evening to make us £15,500.

"Thank you for your generosity; the Chippy Visions lot made us £120. I trust you enjoyed the evening."

With £15,500 in the bag, let's hope the open-air pool is in a good position to take on the next summer season, in 2014. Here's a short video of JC's rousing performance (below).
